Before you start make sure you have the perks, Animal Friend and Wasteland Whisperer unlocked. These two will be necessary to tame the Deathclaw and make him protect your settlement.
Next up is the cage itself, which requires some materials that you might have to scavenge first. Especially the Yao Guai Meat can be a bit tricky to find.

After you have placed the cage, you will have to power it up with a generator. You will also need the beta wave tower which tames the animals you find and basically makes sure that your new animal friends won't kill you and your settlers. Power it up as well and now it's time to wait.
It will take a few in game days until a Deathclaw will be in the cage, so place a bed next to it so you can check quickly if the trap was successful.
Once you find the cage closed and hear the Deathclaw inside it's time to let it out. Simply turn off the generator and the door will open.
That's it guys, you're settlement is now a lot safer and you have your own Deathclaw pet. Hope this helped out and see you guys next time.
